Becoming a Self-Directed Language Learner - $25 per participant
- This two and a half hour session focuses on giving participants a handle on how they can become highly motivated, self-directed and effective language learners outside of language school. Filled with fun activities, proven learning strategies and a book of ideas to take home, the goal of this seminar is for you to leave empowered to return to your community, confident that you can learn language better.
- There is a limit of 20 participants for this seminar.
Handcrafted Books and Audio: for Teachers - $350
- In this three hour workshop, the rationale for the use of handcrafted books and audio is given. We will walk step-by-step through the process of using handcrafted books in your classroom and school. We will create our own handcrafted books in order to give you a better understanding of how this process works. At the end we will also introduce and look at how to create and use handcrafted audio and put it on the internet for your students to access and use. When you leave this workshop you should have a thorough understanding of handcrafted books and how to use them in your classroom and school as well as a beginning understanding of how to make and use handcrafted audio.

Handcrafted Audio in the Classroom: for Teachers - $450
- In this three hour workshop, teachers will walk through the steps to create and use handcrafted audio and narrow listening libraries in their classrooms. Starting with how to record and edit audio files with Audacity, we will walk through the process of creating a website on which you can create an audio library that your students will be able to access at any time.
- Each participant is required to bring a personal laptop with Audacity and the LAME MP3 converter installed, a microphone for recording and several short writing samples from their students (written in the target language). Laptops need to be able to access wireless internet.
- Group limit of 30 participants.
